A good sport climber will hit the end of the rope after a failed redpoint effort and immediately analyze why they fell off the rock climb. Technical mistakes aside, usually the answer lies in swollen forearms that just couldn’t hold on any longer, but is it really that simple? Could there be more? Maybe their core got a bit tired and their body sagged just enough for a foot to blow. Or maybe they didn’t have the power to pull up to that next hold.
